Nishikinohama Park
Nishikinohama Park is the closest beach park to Osaka City, offering a seaside escape where you can enjoy both barbecue and beach activities. The park features both free and paid barbecue areas, allowing you to savor a barbecue while having fun by the sea. In this guide, we’ll introduce how to enjoy your time at Nishikinohama Park, including access information.
Nishikinohama Park is adjacent to the nearest beach to Osaka City, offering a scenic getaway with its blue skies, white sandy shores, and refreshing sea breeze. The park's beauty has earned it a place among the "100 White Sand and Green Pine Landscapes to Preserve for the 21st Century" in Japan. The approximately 1-kilometer stretch of sandy beach, lined with pine trees, becomes a popular spot for beachgoers during the summer. Additionally, Nishikinohama Beach achieved the prestigious "Blue Flag" international environmental certification on May 1, 2024, making it the first in Osaka Prefecture to receive this honor.
Nishikinohama Park offers two barbecue areas: a paid area and a free area. Here, we’ll introduce each of these barbecue areas.
Free Barbecue Area
Matsubara North of the Central Children's Playground
If you want to enjoy both swimming and barbecuing, this is the area for you. Even during the hot summer months, you can cool off with a swim in the sea. This area is also close to the playground and restrooms, making it particularly convenient for families with young children. There are designated trash and charcoal disposal areas, making cleanup easy.
Gravel Beach in the Coastal Green Space
This area is recommended if you plan to focus on barbecuing. Located close to the park's parking lot, it's a convenient option if you have a lot of gear to carry. The area offers a stunning view of Osaka Bay, making it a prime spot for your barbecue. Like the other area, it also has designated trash and charcoal disposal sites.
Paid Barbecue Area

There are also private rental plans for groups, making it suitable for various events. Equipment rentals and meal services are available, so you can enjoy a barbecue without having to bring your own gear. This option is perfect for those who want to avoid the hassle of preparation.
Outdoor Grills: Coastal Green Space
This area offers three types of grills: large, medium, and small, accommodating up to 20 people. The setup includes integrated tables and chairs with the grill, so there's no need to bring your own equipment or reserve a spot. The area is equipped with water and cooking facilities, and there is a sale of nets, charcoal, ignition aids, and dishware. However, you will need to bring your own food, cooking tools, and lighter.
The Nishikinohama Beachside BBQ area is a large barbecue venue with a total of 70 sites, accommodating up to 700 people.
You can bring your own barbecue equipment or take advantage of the available rentals for barbecue grills and outdoor chairs. Additionally, food items are available for purchase, allowing you to enjoy a barbecue with minimal hassle. Equipment rentals can be arranged on the day if stock is available, so you can also pick up any items you might need on-site.
