When it comes to summer, nothing beats a day at the beach! Enjoying nature under the radiant sun is a quintessential summer activity. This time, let me introduce you to Kada Beach, just a 15-minute walk from Kada Station. Among several beaches in Wakayama City, Kada Beach is located furthest north.
Featuring fine natural white sand that feels soft to the touch, this beach spans about 250 meters. With its shallow waters and gentle waves, it's popular among families with children. It's also a great spot for beachside barbecues.
Moreover, Kada Beach is designated as one of Japan's Top 100 Sunsets. Watching the sun dip below the horizon, painting the sky orange, creates a truly enchanting scene. Using the driftwood arches on the beach, capturing some Instagram-worthy photos is highly recommended.
Kada Beach showcases different charms throughout the day. Whether it's during the daytime or at dusk, each moment is incredibly captivating. Be sure to savor the ever-changing scenery! Why not visit for a summer outing or to create unforgettable memories?
A recreational spot overlooking the vast sea for photogenic summer memories.
Adjacent to Tarui Southern Beach, "SENNAN LONG PARK" features rows of palm trees, resembling an overseas resort.
Divided into four areas: Activity Area, Community Area, Market Area, and Glamping Area, where you can enjoy sports, gourmet food, and leisure activities all in one place!
Many couples and groups visit seeking picturesque photos. Capturing a moment in the tropical resort atmosphere while feeling the sea breeze creates photogenic scenes reminiscent of a movie.
In the evening, it lights up with a romantic ambiance. It's a recommended spot where you can enjoy different expressions depending on the time of day.
From Wakayama City Station, it's just a 20-minute ride on the Kada Line to Iso no Ura Station. A mere one-minute walk from the station, you'll find Iso no Ura Beach, one of Kansai's top surfing spots, affectionately known as "Isoko."
Stretching 1200 meters wide, this shallow beach is lined with palm trees, creating a tropical ambiance and a sense of openness. During July and August, the beach is divided into swimming and surfing areas, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for beachgoers.
The Iso no Ura area isn't just about the sea, it's also renowned for its wall art. Vibrantly colored murals adorn the seawall and the walls of Iso no Ura Station, adding to the area's charm. These murals make for great photo spots, so don't forget to snap some shots. Enjoy a delightful journey on the leisurely Kada Line train and immerse yourself in the sea and art—a perfect way to spend your time.
A 15-minute walk from Kada Station, you'll find the ticket booth near Kada Bridge where you can purchase round-trip tickets. Board the boat from the pier. As you watch Kada Port shrink and the wake of the regular boat disappear, you'll slowly feel yourself detach from everyday life. Enjoy the refreshing sea breeze; the 20-minute boat ride will fly by. Regular boats operate four round trips a day, increasing to six during peak periods. However, schedules may vary depending on the season and weather conditions, so be sure to check Tomogashima Ferry's website or Twitter.
Remains of Battery No. 3
From Nonaura Pier, the boat landing, it's about a 900-meter walk. As you traverse the mountain path surrounded by forest, occasionally catching glimpses of the sea through the trees, you'll be captivated by the beautiful contrast of green and blue. Follow the signs until you reach the remains of Battery No. 3. The brick structures covered in moss and greenery are truly mysterious.
Takanosu Mountain Observation Deck and its Views
Further up from the remains of Battery No. 3, you'll find the Takanosu Mountain Observation Deck. Overlooking the Kitan Strait below, on clear days, you can even see mountains in Shikoku, Rokko, and Izumi-Katsuragi areas. The striking white arched sunshade makes for a picturesque spot, perfect for capturing a memorable photograph.
