~ Medetai Densha “Kanata” ~
The Medetai Densha is a sightseeing train that runs on the Nankai Electric Railway Kada Line. The train is themed after the sea bream, a local specialty of Kada, and is known as the “train that makes you feel lucky just by riding it.”
The cute "Kanata," with its vibrant pastel color gradient, began operation on July 13, 2024. The adorable train, with its large round eyes, makes you excited just by riding it. While the previous Medetai Densha trains were based on the 7100 series, this time, the 2000 series has been modified for the first time.
The two-car "Kanata" train is divided into two themes: the "Ancient Memories Area" and the "Hopes for the Future Area." The "Ancient Memories Area" features wooden handrails shaped like nautiluses, jellyfish, and turtles, giving passengers the feeling of being in the ancient seas. In contrast, the "Hopes for the Future Area" has a rainbow path drawn on the floor, symbolizing hope for the future.
At the platform of Kada Station, there are Medetai Densha gachapon machines and a large "め" monument, which are popular photo spots. Be sure to create many memorable moments on your journey!
In addition to "Kanata," the pink "Sachi," the light blue "Kai," the red "Nana," and the black "Kashira" are also in service. You can check the operation schedule on the official website. Find your favorite train and be sure to hop on the "Medetai Densha"!
